Fashion Designer

Job Title: Fashion Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop unique and innovative abaya designs that align with Al Abat's brand identity.
  • Produce design concepts and sketches by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD or Illustrator) software.
  • Develop patterns and oversee sample creation to ensure designs are executed to perfection.
  • Research and analyze trends in fabrics, colors, and styles to stay ahead in the market.
  • Select and source appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments for designs.
  • Adapt existing designs for mass production while maintaining quality and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of collections.
  • Supervise the making of sample garments and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Ensure quality control in all stages of production, from concept to finished product.
  • Manage cost efficiency while adhering to budgets and deadlines.

Performance Goals:

  • Deliver innovative and market-competitive designs consistently.
  • Ensure timely development and production of collections to meet schedules.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the fashion industry, preferably in abaya or modest wear design.
  • Exceptional creativity with an eye for color, texture, and pattern.
  • Strong drawing skills, both by hand and on design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CAD).
  • In-depth knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and pattern cutting.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers and production teams.
  • Awareness of market trends and commercial insight.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Sales Lady

Sales Lady Job Description: 

  • Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist customers in selecting and purchasing abayas or other products, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Take accurate measurements and apply them to create custom-fit abayas based on company standards.
  • Provide detailed information about products, including fabric, design, and care instructions.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests professionally and courteously.
  • Encourage customers to purchase products and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Process payments (cash or credit) and issue receipts accurately.
  • Maintain sales records and report daily sales and expenses.
  • Update and maintain a database of customer profiles and measurements.
  • Contact customers via phone, SMS, or WhatsApp to update them on new items or promotions.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the shop, including displays and merchandise areas.
  • Assist in exhibitions when required, including recording and reporting sales or orders.

Tailor / Sewer

Sewers/Tailors Job Description: 

  • Assemble and sew abayas and other garments following Al Abat's quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain sewing machines, ensuring accurate stitching and finishing.
  • Transfer markings from patterns to fabric as required for precision.
  • Perform detailing work, such as adding embellishments, trims, or embroidery.
  • Execute tasks such as pressing seams (e.g., inside pressed open), finishing sleeve bottoms, hemming, and preparing garments for closures like snaps.
  • Conduct garment cleaning, remove chalk marks and excess threads to ensure a polished finish.
  • Collaborate with the team to complete production orders within the deadlines.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and clean production workspace.

  • Transfer markings and apply details such as pleats, darts, or embellishments as per the design specifications.
  • Preserve and safekeep patterns for future reference and use.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to ensure timely completion of abayas and other garments.
  • Make adjustments or alterations promptly to meet client or production requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the cutting and production areas.
