Job Title: Fashion Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop unique and innovative abaya designs that align with Al Abat's brand identity.
  • Produce design concepts and sketches by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD or Illustrator) software.
  • Develop patterns and oversee sample creation to ensure designs are executed to perfection.
  • Research and analyze trends in fabrics, colors, and styles to stay ahead in the market.
  • Select and source appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments for designs.
  • Adapt existing designs for mass production while maintaining quality and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of collections.
  • Supervise the making of sample garments and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Ensure quality control in all stages of production, from concept to finished product.
  • Manage cost efficiency while adhering to budgets and deadlines.

Performance Goals:

  • Deliver innovative and market-competitive designs consistently.
  • Ensure timely development and production of collections to meet schedules.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in every design and production phase.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Stay updated on global fashion trends and incorporate them into designs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the fashion industry, preferably in abaya or modest wear design.
  • Exceptional creativity with an eye for color, texture, and pattern.
  • Strong drawing skills, both by hand and on design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CAD).
  • In-depth knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and pattern cutting.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers and production teams.
  • Awareness of market trends and commercial insight.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
